Egypt, 1993. There is a delightful little Coptic Christian monastery in Wadi Natrun – very different from most other monasteries in Egypt. I decided to ride there from Alexandria, a city fifty miles away where I was living at the time. This was only a day ride, but I thought I’d add it to this collection anyway. The ride took us down the Nile River Valley but the road we pedaled was 10 or 20 miles from the river.
