During the summer of 1986 I rode my bicycle from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Rhode Island. I took the southern route passing through New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. I rode on the Natchez Trace in Mississippi and found it a great touring route. There is little traffic but I had to get way off the Trace to get to a decent grocery store. I took the Blue Ridge (North Carolina) and Skyline Drive (Virginia) and found them to be challenging routes because of the non-stop hills. Although the journey was difficult in the hot, humid month of July, the scenery and historic sites made it well worth it.

Nancy is an artist and metalsmith making wearable art from recycled metal and antique components.
John is busy either hiking or planning his next long-distance hike.
Davy is studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Boise State University.
Daryl is studying Computer Science and Software Engineering at University of Texas Dallas.
