We all have dreams. Some people go out there and make their dreams a reality while others maintain theirs as just that, a dream.
Dreams can come true only if you believe in yourself enough to go chase them.
Making your dream a reality is, however, not an easy matter. It takes a series of steps to make it happen but one thing is for sure, you need to believe in yourself. If you don’t, your dream won’t happen. It’s as simple as that.
Start believing in yourself
Become your own number one fan and hold those pom-poms tight and high. Trust yourself enough to say what you mean and mean what you say. Do not hold back out of fear of what others will think or say. Fight for what you believe and be firm.
I will readily admit I wasn’t convinced I could make it to Argentina on my bike before we started, but I was willing to give myself the benefit of the doubt. I climbed on my bike, determined to give it everything I had. I believed in myself enough to at least try.
I’ll even go so far as to say that you need to know you can do it. You need to know it’s possible for YOU – not just some vague idea that it’s maybe possible for somebody. You need to know that you, personally, can reach that goal. It might be a stretch, but if you’re not convinced it’s possible, you’ll give up at the first or tenth or hundredth obstacle. You’ll be convinced that you’ve reached the end of the road and you can’t go farther.
Know you can do it. Trust in yourself.
Work on your confidence
Did you know that 72% of interviewers know if you’re fit for the job the moment you walk through the door? This is a proven fact.
People who believe in themselves are very different from people who don’t, and the difference can be seen simply by appearance. A slouchy back, arms across your chest and avoiding eye contact are great signs of a person who doesn’t believe in herself. On the other hand, a woman who walks with her chest out, greets people on her way, smiles a lot, and basically owns the room when she enters exudes confidence
To catch your dreams, you need to have this amazing quality that comes from within.
When life’s lessons push you down to the ground, gather enough strength to spring up and move forward. Your strength does not come from many hours at the gym lifting weights; it comes from picking yourself up when life’s occurrences push you down. It may be difficult to gather enough strength and courage to spring back up if you do not believe in yourself, but remember: if it’s to be, then it’s up to you. No one, no matter how much they love you, can do the believing for you.
Work on your strong points
Every one of us has both strong points and weaknesses. We need to work on our strong points and give less attention on our weak points. Work on what brings out the better you.
It might be something as simple as your cooking skills. Invite some friends or family over and cook for them. Use the compliments they offer as a foundation to build your esteem on. Grow and improve on this gradually until you have gathered enough to go catch your dreams.
Your dream will require a strong person who believes in herself. Be the leader in your cheer squad and let others join in. Do not settle for “what ifs” in your life. If you feel passionate about something go chase it.
Sometimes it only takes a single step forward for doors to open.
You never know what will happen when you go chase your dreams but there is only one way to find out. Get out there.
Believe in yourself. It’s the first step toward your dream.

@Tony, Very true. It’s hard to trust ourselves, but oh so important.
