Are you living the life of your dreams?

Are you living the life of your dreams? A passion-filled life? A life you’ve consciously designed rather than floating along doing… something?

It was March of 2006 when John came home after work and said, “I don’t want to do this anymore, Nancy. I want more.”

That simple statement, that simple realization that his life wasn’t fulfilling in the way he wanted, led to a radical lifestyle change for us. In time, I came to the exact same realization and the rest, as they say, is history.

We set out on our bicycles for a year. That year led to three years through the Americas. That journey led to us not returning to teaching and designing a life I never could have imagined not all that long ago.

The amazing thing, for me, is considering where I would be if John never opened his eyes to the possibilities. Would we still be in the classroom spending all our time with other people’s children? Would Davy and Daryl be full time students in a typical educational program? There is no way to know.

I feel fortunate that my husband dared to question the status quo. He dared to dream big and we made it happen. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t quick. It took an enormous amount of faith to make that leap, but I can’t imagine a life without having done what we have.

I’ve seen the advantages of having a custom-designed lifestyle. I’m living it now and know first-hand how rewarding it is. And here’s the thing: I want that for everyone.

My wish for every person on our planet is that each one makes conscious, deliberate choices about what their life will look like. I understand that many people on our globe realistically don’t have the ability to do that, but we in the developed world do. We are blessed by the simple fact that we’ve got options that many don’t.

And yet it’s all too easy to slide along, doing what we do. We’re not particularly sure why we’re doing it, but it somehow sounded like a good idea at the time. We don’t love it. We’re not passionate about it. When we allow ourselves to dream, we dream about something else. But well… that something else isn’t reality.

Or is it?

dream rebootMy friend, Jenn Miller, and I run a course called the Dream: Reboot. If you are thinking you would like a life that looks different from what you have right now, this course is for you. It’s a 3-month dream boot camp. We’ll take your hand and hold it tight as you leap over the hurdles that are preventing you from living the life you dream of.

We would love to be your personal dream coach and launch you into the life you can be truly passionate about. Would you give us the opportunity?

Click here to read more about the program. The reviews have been fantastic. The course has been life-changing. We would love for you to join us.

About Nancy Sathre-Vogel

After 21 years as a classroom teacher, Nancy Sathre-Vogel finally woke up and realized that life was too short to spend it all with other people's kids. She and her husband quit their jobs and, together with their twin sons, climbed aboard bicycles to see the world. They enjoyed four years cycling as a family - three of them riding from Alaska to Argentina and one exploring the USA and Mexico. Now they back in Idaho, putting down roots, enjoying life at home, and living a different type of adventure. It's a fairly sure bet that you'll find her either writing on her computer or creating fantastical pieces with the beads she's collected all over the world. Test

How incredibly courageous and brave it is to make a deliberate choice about your life that doesn’t fit neatly into anyone’s box. There are as many great lessons to learn outside of the classroom as there are in it. Thanks for being such an inspiration!

@Nicole @ Suitcase Stories, It’s so important to see what’s possible when you’re planning. It somehow opens up a whole new world when you know other doing it!
