I’m excited to help our fellow educators and travelers at Wandering Educators announce a new program they’re launching. I’ll let them tell you all about it…
Do you know any teens that love to write? Teenagers that are looking to build skills that will transfer into career opportunities in the travel, blogging, and corporate industries?
WanderingEducators.com has created a youth travel blogging mentorship program to equip youth with the writing and business skills needed to succeed in the global economy, and create a foundation for living powerful and productive lives.
Today’s youth face enormous challenges that their parents and grandparents could not envision. Traditional educational methods have not evolved quickly enough to keep up with the rapidly changing economic environment. Kids go to school, get their college degree, and no longer are guaranteed a job. While we recommend a college education, any extra skills or flexibility that students have can be a game-changer.
We are offering this program as a way to give back, because we see the need for a change in how people prepare themselves for their work lives, and take the passion for writing and the curiosity about the world that they have anywhere they want (hobby, business, career, etc.).
We want to set them free to change the world in powerfully positive ways.
Partnering with highly successful faculty in the areas of travel writing, travel blogging, social media, writing, photography, videography, and SEO, this program can help them get established in the realm of social media, blogging, and content creation.
How will this benefit the participants? They will learn:
- travel and journalistic writing
- the foundational skills of blogging, photography and videography
- social media and how it is changing the landscape of business
- how to create a professional media kit that will get them sponsors and press tours
- how to make a living from their travel blogs
Having these business skills is an enormous resume builder.
This ongoing, multi-term mentoring program is available at no cost to students ages 14-18. This is our way of supporting our youth – and their future.
So where do you come in? Check out the information here, and if you know of anyone who could benefit from this, please share!
