|Pan American Highway
A Family Adventure
As a family, we made the decision to cycle the length of the Americas on the longest road in the world – the PanAmerican Highway. It was a journey that took us through deserts that extended for thousands of miles, over passes higher than the highest peaks in Colorado, and through rain forests with vegetation so dense there was no way to leave the road. It was also a journey that would teach us about ourselves and our world.
We spent nearly three years on the road cycling 17,300 miles through fifteen countries. We stayed in hostels or in our tent by the side of the road. We cooked over a tiny campstove or ate in local restaurants along the way. We met people from all walks of life and gained an understanding of what this grand world of ours is all about.
